Internal Medicine Review for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants and Primary Care MDs -- A Case Study Approach to the Management of Common Problems, September 23 - 25, 2009

This annual interdisciplinary course offers participants an overview of current topics in internal medicine including interactive case studies with a computer automated audience response system. Interdisciplinary speakers present diverse clinical topics chosen for applicability to NP/PA, primary care physician practice settings. During the interactive auscultation session, participants gain experience with heart sounds utilizing a state-of-the-art infrared auscultation system.  Jointly sponsored by ASMNP, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, University of Minnesota-Rochester and Minnesota Association of Physician Assistants.

Hospital Medicine for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants (NP/PAs)
October 22 - 24, 2009

First annual Hospital Medicine for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants (NP/PAs) CME Course. The CME course is jointly sponsored by Mayo School of Continuous Professional Development and the Department of Hospital Medicine, ASMNP and MAPA  .

With a decrease in residency training hours and the planned shift of physician training to the outpatient setting, Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants are being asked to fill the gap of caring for the vastly growing hospitalized patient population. This annual conference has an emphasis on providing the most up to date and evidence-based guidelines and treatment pathways necessary to optimally care for hospitalized patients.

The course will begin on Thursday, October 22, 2009 and conclude on Saturday, October 24, 2009, at the Kahler Grand Hotel, Rochester, MN.
